Robinhood Crypto Trading First Invitations Rolling Out

Crypto markets on popular trading mobile app Robinhood have officially been launched and the first batch of Robinhood customers should be receiving their invitational email today. As stated in previous announcements, access will be limited to residents in California, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana, and New Hampshire initially. There are plans to allow other state residents to have the crypto trading functionality in the near future.

In it’s current state, users of the Robinhood app are only able to purchase Bitcoin and Ethereum with fiat. You cannot deposit crypto from another wallet. You cannot withdraw crypto to another wallet either. You can sell your crypto for fiat and withdraw fiat. There is real time market data for several altcoins (BCH, BTG, DASH, DOGE, ETC, LSK, LTC, XMR, NEO, OMG, QTUM, XRP, XLM, ZEC), with the ability to buy/sell coming in the future.

Along with the crypto markets service being launched, Robinhood has also announced ‘Robinhood Feed’, a new social function on that app. Feed will allow users to discuss cryptocurrenies, news, and the market in real-time with other users on Robinhood. Feed will also be limited to a random amount of people, with plans of full functionality for the masses in tow.
