Monero dev Riccardo Spagni confirmed in an interview with crypto Youtuber and poker player Doug Polk that Ledger support for Monero is already integrated and will soon be launched. The news of the confirmation came just a week after Monero hard-forked in order to continue it’s stance against centralization of ASIC mining.
“We are on Ledger already if you’ve got the dev kit, I saw some commits happening today to fix a couple of small issues. I’d hope that probably alongside the Monero 0.12.1 release, there will be official Ledger support.”
Users who are running Monero’s Dev Kit should already be able to see Monero on the Ledger, with full integration to be released shortly. The addition of XMR to Ledger is planned to work as an update for existing Ledgers. Spagni explains the delay of adding Monero to the Ledger is due to more work being needed to be completed since XMR is not a simple clone of BTC.
