Coinbases Announces E-Gift Card Withdrawals For Europe and Australia

Earlier today, Coinbase made an announcement of their new e-gift card withdrawal feature. Users can now withdraw their crypto directly into e-giftcards with zero Coinbase withdrawal fees. Coinbase’s partnership with WeGift will allow users to make real-world use of their crypto by being able to spend their crypto funds at retailers like Nike, Uber, Tesco, Google Play, Ticketmaster, Zalando, and more. The service is only available in the UK, Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands, and Australia. While plans of expanding to different areas and expanding the number of retailers have been mentioned, no plans of opening up the feature to US residents has been stated.

Fortune’s 40-under-40

Coinbase can definitely be seen as the main catapult in encouraging the growth between crypto and mainstream adoption. Coinbase’s CEO, Brian Armstrong, was recently listed in Fortune.com’s 40-under-40. At just 35, Armstrong is described as building “the Google of crypto” and said to have eclipsed banking giant, Charles Schwab, in total accounts opened.
