Coinbase Claims They Were Signing Up 50,000 New Users a Day Last Year

During an interview discussion at the Bloomberg Players Technology Summit in San Francisco, CEO of Coinbase Brian Armstrong claimed the exchange was signing up 50,000 new users a day last year.

The price of Bitcoin has dropped down near 70% since the top of the bull market frenzy back in December of last year. Coinbase has said last year the company helped customers trade $150 billion worth of cryptocurrency. Armstrong has yet to release this year’s current numbers but has described the market as going through a series of bubbles and corrections that will ultimately reach new plateaus.

Despite this years bear market the San Francisco based exchange continues to grow. This year, there has been quite a few notable members joining the Coinbase team and the company currently has about 1,000 employees with plans to keep expanding.
